I recently acquired an R4 for my DS, and naturally the first ROM I downloaded was Ketsui: Death Label. For all intents and purposes, it is indeed a watered-down version of Ketsui, containing only the bosses, midbosses, and I believe the entire 5th stage (haven't unlocked it, correct me if I'm wrong). However, as a quick, on-the-go time waster this game yields incredible value, and is even more accessible than some of CAVE's iPhone ports. Just choose a set of stages and start felling bosses and dodging bullets. It also has an interesting spin on arcade Ketsui's scoring system; when using the lock shoot, the powerful rainbow beam in front causes point chips to rain from the bosses. The closer you are to the bosses with this beam, the higher the chip value. In a sense, it's like arcade Ketsui but the other way around. Also worth noting is that nearly all of the graphics and sound have been faithfully reproduced in this version.

And that's what I've been playing lately. How about you?

Since I got it I've been playing a lot of Akai Katana. It's hard and makes me rage a lot. Slash mode is such an interesting arrange mode, but I frequently die on the first stage from stupid things. I can manage to get in the top 10 high scores for Pink Sweets Arrange(which I play a lot), but not Akai Katana. So weird.
